ADR Training Courses
Enterprise ADR courses are accredited by the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) for the ADR certificate and by JAUPT (the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training) for Driver CPC purposes.
ADR Training Courses vary in length depending upon the nature of goods to be transported. Most candidates opt for either a 3.5-day Core, Packages and 7 Classes or a 5-day course which includes the tanks module. ADR Training Courses are now delivered remotely online, meaning that candidates only attend the venue for examinations on the Friday.
Whilst there are 9 classes of dangerous goods, most courses just cover the 7 more common classes that drivers regularly transport.
The specialist classes – Explosives (class 1) and Radioactives (class 7), are taught as stand-alone courses.
The full course content is shown further down this page.
Onsite training is available for companies with suitable training facilities.

ADR Refresher Training Courses
Candidates may refresh an ADR licence by attending a shorter course.
This training must be undertaken during the final 12 months of validity of the current qualification. To allow the new qualification to be processed, the candidate should have at least 6 weeks remaining on their existing qualification.
Candidates may only refresh the qualifications they currently hold. To add classes or modules to a licence, initial training must be undertaken.
A benefit of this course is the shorter duration and lower cost. However, it is eligible for fewer Driver CPC Upload hours, meaning that a high proportion of drivers opt to undertake ‘initial’ training every 5 years instead.
