Where you’ll sit your exams

Our Peterborough centre is easily accessible for drivers across Peterborough, Stamford and Cambridgeshire. Your ADR training is completed online over Zoom, so you only need to travel to the Peterborough centre for one day — the final day of your course — to complete your practical demonstrations and sit your ADR examinations. By car

Wittering is directly on the A1 between Stamford and Peterborough, beside RAF Wittering. Townsend Road is within the village, just off the A1 junction.

  • From Peterborough: take the A47 west towards Wansford, join the A1 northbound for one junction and exit at Wittering.
  • From Stamford and Grantham: head south on the A1; Wittering is the first village junction south of Stamford, signed from the main road.
  • From Corby and Kettering: take the A43 to the A1 at Duddington/Wansford and head north one junction to Wittering.

By rail & bus

Peterborough station, on the East Coast Main Line, is around eight miles away, with fast LNER services from London, the North and East Anglia; Stamford station on the Birmingham to Peterborough line is slightly closer. From either the venue is a taxi ride along the A1 corridor, so allow good time on exam morning. Check the latest timetables on National Rail before travelling.

Buses run along the A1/A47 corridor between Peterborough, Wittering and Stamford. Services are limited, so please check Traveline before relying on the bus on exam day.
