RTITB Forklift Instructor Course

The RTITB Lift Truck Instructor course will provide candidates with the skills required to prepare and examine operators for the working environment of lift trucks. Candidates will be equipped to understand how to do this in accordance with agreed best practice.

Successful completion of the course will require candidates to pass an examination that covers basic operating skills, associated knowledge and practical instructional ability. The course concludes with an examination, which you must successfully complete in order to qualify as an RTITB Lift Truck Instructor. Successful candidates are eligible to register on the RTITB Register of Professional Instructors.

Enterprise provide the relevant forklift training to enable companies to have a designated member of your own team with the qualifications to train your staff on site.

RTITB Forklift Instructor Training Course Content

 

What you will get

The Lift Truck Instructor training course provides candidates with the skills to prepare and examine operators for working with lift trucks in accordance with best practice.

The course provides candidates with an experienced instructor who will guide you over the relevant areas of theory, discussion and practice.

At the end of the course you will be able to recall and discuss relevant legislation and be able to plan, prepare and deliver lift truck training to the RTITB standard.

Course Outcome

On the completion of the training, candidates will be able to:

  • Operate a forklift truck to the standard required for FLT truck instructors.
  • Structure training material into a logical sequence for developing knowledge and skills.
  • Adopt an effective style for teaching skills appropriate to the type of truck involved.
  • Adopt an objective and critical approach towards the effectiveness of the instruction.
  • Present the appropriate method of assessment to confirm candidate’s competence.
  • Assess candidate’s basic operating skills and knowledge in accordance with requirements.

Eligibility

10 Day Novice Instructor Course:

• Candidates must have passed an accredited (by an ABA member) Counterbalance operator course within 3 years of the instructor course start date.
• Candidates must have successfully completed and passed the full eTruck eLearning course within 3 years of the instructor course start date.
• Must have strong written skills and verbal communication skills.

3 Day Re-registration Course:

• Candidates must be a current RTITB Registered Instructor or hold an expired RTITB Instructor qualification (expiry within the last 12 months)
• Candidates must have successfully completed and passed the refresher eTruck eLearning course within 3 years of the instructor course start date.

5 Day Re-registration Course:

• Candidates must be a current RTITB Registered Instructor or hold an expired RTITB Instructor qualification (within the last 24 months). Note: if the RTITB qualification expired more than 24 months ago, you must complete a Novice Instructor Course.
• Candidates must have successfully completed and passed the refresher eTruck eLearning course within 3 years of the course start date.

5 Day Conversion Course (from an Accrediting Bodies Association for Workplace Transport (ABA) member or expired registration (no more than 12 months ago)):

• Candidates must be a currently registered Instructor with another ABA member or hold one of the following qualifications:

o IPAF Instructor
o CITB/Construction Skills Instructor
o ALLMI Instructor
o LEEA Instructor
o PASMA Instructor
o ROSPA International Diploma in Advanced Instruction
o ROSPA International Master Training
o IIPMM Instructor (Ireland)
o BRITTOP Instructor

• This course is not suitable for holders of in-house Instructor qualifications.
• Candidates must have successfully completed and passed the full eTruck eLearning course within 3 years of the course start date.

ITSSAR Forklift Instructor Course

The ITSSAR Lift Truck Instructor course will provide candidates with the skills required to prepare and examine operators for the working environment of lift trucks. Candidates will be equipped to understand how to do this in accordance with agreed best practice.

Candidates who successfully pass all elements of the course are eligible to register on the ITSSAR Accredited Training Providers.

ITSSAR Forklift Instructor Training Course Content

 

What you will get

Our ITSSAR Instructor Courses provide everything your instructor will need to train forklift operators to the highest standard.

The content on this course includes the principles of forklift truck operations and how they should be operated in accordance with the codes of practice.

You will also discover different learning methods, types of lessons, lesson plans and classroom lessons.

By the end of the course you will have the relevant instructional techniques in addition to skills testing and ongoing assessments.

Eligibility

10 Day Novice Instructor Course:

• Candidates must have passed an accredited (by an ABA member) Counterbalance operator course within 6 months of the course date.
• Must have strong written skills and verbal communication skills.

3 Day Re-registration Course:

• Candidates must be a current ITSSAR Registered Instructor or hold an expired ITSSAR Instructor qualification (within the last 6 months).
• Candidates must be training on a regular basis to be eligible to attend a 3-day course.

5 Day Re-registration Course:

• Candidates must be a current ITSSAR Registered Instructor or hold an expired ITSSAR Instructor qualification (within the last 6 months).
• Candidates must attend a 5 day Re-registration course if they have not been training operators on a regular basis.

5 Day Conversion Course (from an Accrediting Bodies Association for Workplace Transport (ABA) member or expired registration (no more than 12 months ago)):

Any instructor holding current registration with any one of the following bodies: AITT, NPORS, RTITB, IPAF, LANTRA, CITB, ALLMI LEEA and PASMA

OR

holds the following qualification: PTLLS, CTLLS, DTTLS or an AWARD IN EDUCATION & TRAINING CERTIFICATE may apply for training to become an ITSSAR instructor.

This course is not suitable for holders of in-house instructor qualifications.

In-House Training

We are able to offer two options for in FLT house instructor training:

Attend on prescribed course dates with us for the first 9 days, the 10th day (exam day) will be completed the following week at your venue with exams tailored to your specific environment. Successful candidates are then eligible to train candidates on their in-house certification. To be eligible for this candidate must have passed an operator’s course within the last 6 months.

Price: £1350 + VAT

Our second option is to come to your site for a maximum of 2 candidates for 5 days to train them specifically within their work environment and the equipment and space you have. To be eligible for this candidate must have passed an operator’s course within the last 6 months.
