Our Plymouth centre is easily accessible for drivers across Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall. Your ADR training is completed online over Zoom, so you only need to travel to the Plymouth centre for one day — the final day of your course — to complete your practical demonstrations and sit your ADR examinations. By car

The venue is on Armada Way in the centre of Plymouth, a short drive from the A38 Devon Expressway.

From the A38 (Devon Expressway): leave at one of the Plymouth city-centre exits and follow signs into the centre for Armada Way.
From Cornwall: cross the Tamar Bridge or take the A38 into Plymouth and follow city-centre signs.
From Exeter and the M5: follow the A38 south-west into Plymouth and head for the city centre.

By rail & bus

Plymouth railway station is around a mile from the city centre, with GWR and CrossCountry services from Exeter, Bristol, London and Cornwall. From the station the venue is a short taxi ride or walk. Check the latest timetables on National Rail before travelling.

Plymouth’s city bus network serves the centre. Routes and frequencies change, so please check Traveline before travelling on your exam day.

What time do I have to arrive at the Plymouth centre?

Please arrive at the Plymouth centre by 09:15am on your exam day. You will first complete the practical demonstrations, including chest compressions and handling a fire extinguisher, shortly followed by sitting your ADR exams.

No. Your ADR training is delivered online over Zoom. You only attend the Plymouth centre in person to complete your practical demonstrations and sit your ADR examinations on the final day of the course, with results available instantly after each exam.

What should I bring to my ADR exam in Plymouth?

You are required to bring your ID (Driving Licence, ADR Licence, DQC or Passport). You also need to bring your registration form with an attached photograph and the worksheets completed during the course.
